“Depression is the absence of being able to envisage that you will be cheerful again. The absence of hope.”
~ J. K. Rowling, Author of The Harry Potter Series
What causes depression?
When a person is unable to express, or deliberately suppressed emotions, it affects their mental well-being, leading to depression.
The two major causes of depression are:
Stress: In today’s excessively fast-paced and over-competitive world, stress is quite common, not only in adults but also in children. At times, this stress increases to an extent where it leads to anxiety and eventually depression.
Pain: Chronic physical or mental pain can diminish a person’s ability to think clearly and function normally. Such people tend to lose interest in everything and fall into depression.
